Galileo Empower AB hosts Brynje Windfarm Consultation

Galileo Empower AB conducted a consultation regarding a new wind farm in Berg Municipality, Jämtland County, Sweden.

Galileo Empower plans for a maximum of 42 wind turbines with a maximum height of 300 meters. A permit application is planned to be submitted during the second quarter of 2025.

Sweden aims for 100% renewable energy by 2040, achieving this transition requires a substantial expansion of wind power in a sustainable manner. Brynje Wind Farm will contribute with about 914 GWh annually once operational. The energy is thus estimated to heat about 45,700 Swedish houses or provide household electricity to about 180,000 households or charge 540,000 electric cars, making it a meaningful contribution to the community’s transition to renewable energy and contribute to the fulfilment of several Swedish national environmental goals.

In addition to its environmental advantages, the project is expected to stimulate the local economy by generating jobs where standard values show that there can be up to 462 full-time roles throughout the windfarm’s life cycle. In addition to jobs, Brynje Wind Farm can return between 0.85 SEK and 5.1 million SEK per year in rural development funds, depending on the price of electricity.

Galileo Empower is proud to take this step toward a greener future,” said Lizette Ekstrand, Project manager. “Brynje wind farm will reduce reliance on fossil fuels and empower the local community, demonstrating our commitment to a clean and sustainable future for Bergs municipality and Jämtland County.”
