Galileo Empower submits plans for 98MW Crosbie
Galileo Empower has submitted a planning application for the up to 98MW Crosbie wind farm in Scotland.
The Developer wants to install 14 turbines with 200-metre tips at a 1033-hectare site in North Ayrshire near Fairlie and West Kilbride and close to the former Hunterston nuclear power stations.
It states the maximum generating capacity of the array would “exceed 80MW” with turbines to be rated at up to 7MW apiece. A more than 50MW battery energy storage system is also planned.
Construction would last up to 18 months and a grid connection is currently expected to be energised in August 2030, according to the paperwork.
